For more than a week now, I have been using Althea Korea’s Waterful Green Bamboo Pads and Skin Relief Calming Cream as part of my skincare routine. When it comes to trying skin care products especially on my face, I always worry about how it will react on my skin, specifically if it will cause my skin to dry.
Waterful Green Bamboo Pads | PHP700
These work Bamboo Pads work as toner pads or mask pads which is suitable for all skin types, especially for dry skin. It has moisturizing and hydrating ingredients which are soothing to the skin giving a healthy glow.
It comes in this 100ml tub containing 80 pieces, I believe. A mini plastic tweezer, if I may call it, was also provided which I think is very hygienic since you do not get to touch all the Bamboo Pads with your hands. However, at times it may take a while to get only one or the desired number of Bamboo Pads. If ever I get two Bamboo Pads at once, I don’t mind putting back the extra pad though. But if you’re very particular with such hygienic conditions, you can take your time getting a single Bamboo Pad with the mini tweezer. That’s what I sometimes do.
BAMBUSA VULGARIS (BAMBOO) extract
Salix Nigra (WILLOW) Bark extract
Centella Asiatica Extract
I’m not the best person to ask when it comes to describing scents but, for me, it has this minty scent. It’s not too strong nor overpowering at all.
How to use the Waterful Green Bamboo Pads?
These soft natural Bamboo cotton pads have this texture of natural cotton gauze. I’m not sure if it’s only me, but I think these Bamboo Pads has a rougher and a smoother side. After washing my face at night, I get a single Bamboo Pad using the mini plastic tweezer. I use the rougher side of the Bamboo Pad first to in a way exfoliate my skin. Afterward, I use the smoother side of the Bamboo Pad and use it until it gets dry.
My experience using the Waterful Green Bamboo Pads
I use the Bamboo Pads as my toner, and I love how my skin feels afterward. I even use it around my eye areas which does not have that sting effect and is very comfortable to use. Aside from using it a night, I have read from Althea Korea’s website that it can also be used to prep your skin before applying makeup. I love how it soothes my skin especially now that it’s summer in the Philippines. Its Moist-Veil System Technology allows the skin to keep the moisture as well as the active ingredients for glowing skin.
I can honestly recommend this product to those with dry skin like me. My skin easily gets dry around my eye, cheek and nose areas. The ingredients used are even safe for those with sensitive skin.
Skin Relief Calming Cream | PHP560
The Skin Relief Calming Cream is a soothing facial cream that hydrates and restores skin from damage. It is suitable for dry and irritated skin which is non-sticky and hydrating.
It comes in this 80ml tube which I believe is more hygienic than other cream products in a tub.
*5 soothing ingredients: Eclipta Prostrata Leaf Extract, Amaranthus Caudatus Seed Extract, Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Ulmus Davidiana Root Extract, Ficus Carica Fruit Extract
Free: Paraben, Synthetic pigment, Triethanolamine, mineral oil, Benzophenone-3, animal ingredients, Propylene Glycol, ethanol, Talc, Benzoic acid
It has this mild minty scent.
How to use the Skin Relief Calming Cream?
I lightly squeeze the tube and put a desired amount of product on my palm. Using my hands, I pat the product gently on my face down to my neck. Once it is fully absorbed, I sometimes add more products and put it specifically on the areas of my face that are prone to dryness.
My experience using the Skin Relief Calming Cream
For more than a week of using the Calming Cream, it was only the other day that I found out that it contains shea butter. It finally made sense to me why this Calming Cream did not cause my skin to dry at all. Not all products that claim to be moisturizing are moisturizing at all. Some of the products I’ve tried in the past has even caused my skin to get drier. But with the Calming Cream, it did not disappoint.
Also, I love that it contains antipollution essential which calms the skin even after a long day. And since it’s currently hot and humid here, it soothes my skin and keeps it hydrated. It also makes my skin soft and glowing!
