A few months back, Althea Korea sent me the Petal Velvet Sunaway kit which includes the invisible sunscreen, three velvet powder in different variants, and cute hologram pouch. I love how feminine and chic the packaging is which conveys well with its main component, Damask Rose.
Petal Velvet Sunaway | 55ML
for all skin types
The Petal Velvet Sunaway is a lightweight invisible sunscreen which claims to hydrate the skin and leave a velvety finish. As I have mentioned above, Damask Rose is its main ingredient that is rich in vitamins and gives you a radiant glow.
How to use the Petal Velvet Sunaway?
Shake well before applying onto your skin.
My experience on using the Petal Velvet Sunaway:
Based on its ingredients, it has this floral mixed with other oil scents that have contributed to its fragrance. I am not fond of its smell, to me, it smells like citronella which is quite common among insect repellants, though of course, it does not have this as a component. Just a disclaimer, its smell may differ from others’ perspective than mine.
Thus, what I like most about it is that it doesn’t leave any white cast which most sunscreen product has. The Petal Velvet Sunaway is very lightweight and when applied it feels like you’re putting on some moisturizer which can easily be absorbed by the skin. Also, it doesn’t make your skin feel sticky instead it gives you that velvety finish. Recently, I’ve been using it almost every day after I take a bath in the morning. For ordinary days at home, I use a moisturizer first and afterward, apply the Petal Velvet Sunaway evenly on my face and neck. However, for days when I needed to go out, I always use the sunscreen first and top it off with Petal Velvet Powder or any face powder I am using at the moment.
Petal Velvet Powder | 3G each
#23 Warm Beige
These compact lightweight powder originally comes in two shades which are Translucent, for all skin tones, and Warm Beige suggested for darker tones. Pink Lavender is limited edition for Althea Korea’s 3rd Anniversary which is perfect to brighten your skin.
My experience using the Petal Velvet Powder:
Among all these shades, I use the shade Warm Beige the most since it looks so natural on my face and that is why I prefer to use it for my everyday looks. I love how it feels so smooth and soft on my skin. It also gives me the satin mattifying finish which makes my skin look radiant but not too shiny. I love its very compact size which made me bring it with me last month on my trip to Japan.
When doing my makeup, I like using a makeup brush to apply the Petal Velvet Powder. But for doing retouch, I make sure to remove the excess oil first by using some oil absorbing sheets. I love how it enhances my makeup looks without caking up and oiling up too much.
As for the Translucent shade, I like using it for my under eyes. I don’t use foundation often, but when I do, I usually use a tiny amount similar as to how you apply a BB cream. Then, I use the Translucent Petal Velvet Powder to set my makeup, especially in my undereye areas.
Lastly, the Pink Lavender Petal Velvet Powder is an enhanced version of the two other shades. It has the same components only added with pink and purple pigments to give a little color to your dull skin. As it brightens your skin, it also lets you enjoy lavender aromatherapy.
